The work «Tradition» joins the artwork «Tradition on the road», which, as a rolling work of art, has been under way on the rails of the ZVV network since 2013. The paper cutting art records the various facets of the Canton of Zurich. The design unites modernity and tradition, city and country, as well as nature and technology in a surprising and creative manner. Passersby on the Bahnhofstrasse will discover surprising and new things on the large banner over and over again.
Artist
Contracted by Zurich Cantonal Bank, the multi award-winning graphic designer from Zurich, Nadine Geissbühler, designed a train composition of one hundred meters in length. This showed the various aspects of life in the Canton of Zurich in a paper-cut style as black images on white background.
Location
The Zürcher Kantonalbank belongs to the exclusive circle of the safest banks in the world and plays a leading role in the Zurich economic zone. It is committed to a lively Zurich: whether that means theatre by the lake or the flora and fauna in the Zoo. Zürcher Kantonalbank gets involved with conviction and enthusiasm! Since 1872, the headquarters has been located at Bahnhofstrasse 9, in the former «Hotel Marienburg». The present building was built from 1961 to 1970 and renovated between 2011 and 2015. The reopening will take place mid-August 2015.
