Project: Picnic Allee
Artist: Massimo Vitali
Location: UBS Bahnhofstrasse

Project
At the façade of the UBS headquarter to the Pelikanstrasse, you will see a picnic scene. Massimo Vitali took the picture on the «Picnic Allee» work on July 14, 2000, the French national holiday, in the Luxembourg Gardens, Paris, between Observatorium and Senat. It shows a public picnic celebrating the Millenium.
Artist
Massimo Vitali, born in 1944 in Como, lives in Italy. He studied photography at the London College of Printing. In the early sixties he worked as a photojournalist for magazines and agencies in Italy and throughout Europe. He is famous for his series of Italian beach panoramas, which he started against the background of drastic political changes in Italy in 1995. He observed his countrymen very carefully. His snapshots lend something clinical to self-forgetfulness.
Location
As the leading universal bank in Switzerland, with a 150-year history UBS supports active cultural and artistic works globally. Massimo Vitali‘s work is a part of the UBS Art Collection. UBS Zurich is wishing everyone a pleasant summer with «Picnic Allee».
