Project
The project shows portraits of five generations of a family. Each generation is presented with personal traits and yet unmistakable characteristics are also reflected, which link the family together. The project vividly portrays the «life cycle» from childhood to old age, in an aesthetic, authentic and completely natural manner. As seen by the Youngest (born 2009), the family from Solothurn also comprises the mother (born 1987), grandmother (born 1967), great grandmother (born 1946) and great, great grandmother (born 1923).
Artist
Matthias Auer, born 1965, grow up in the distinctive mood of light of the Appenzellerland and the peasant art (Art Brut). Since 1997 he is working as a freelance photographer in the field of people, product photography and industry.
