Project
The work «2030» belongs to a series created by order of Intelsat for the us american government by Hannes Schmid in 1991. The task was to create a pictorial vision displaying telecommunications after 2010. The image shows how people are directly exposed to the digital world with all its influences. The transformation of the analogue and digital world continues relentlessly. A glance at the present illustrates the almost prophetic design ideas of the 1991.
Artist
At the start of his career, the internationally renowned photo artist Hannes Schmid worked as a travel, advertising and fashion photographer. He achieved international fame with the «Marlboro Man» photographs. The subsequent focus of his work was extended tours with pop and rock stars, and free artistic projects. Besides photographic projects his works include images and films, installations, exhibited in numerous locations from Winterthur to New York.
Location
The family enterprise Confiserie Sprüngli was founded in 1836 and with its exquisite assortment is one of the most renowned confectioneries in Europe. The products from the house of Sprüngli stand for top quality, unique freshness and naturalness. The Confiserie at the Paradeplatz was opened in 1859 and quickly developed into a popular meeting place on the Zurich Bahnhofstrasse. The commercial building was rebuilt in Art Nouveau style in 1909/10 and New Building style in 1931. 1974 us it was restaurated to the orignale state of neo-classicism.
