Today, people from 195 nations live in Switzerland. The project displays them as portraits in the form of a «Nation Walk» from the central station to the Europaallee. Switzers opens and widens the viewing angle to convey identity with Switzerland, focusing on the unity of all people. The joys and sorrows, the hopes and aspirations, the longing and homesickness. They are important members of society. Recognising this presupposes openness, mutual respect and tolerance. Later, the portraits will be exhibited in other cities.
For his project Switzers, the Swiss advertising-film producer Reiner Roduner, Absolutturnus Film AG, has searched two years for a face to represent each of the nations represented in Switzerland and thereby intends to set standards for cultural diversity. He shot the photos together with the multiple award-winning photographer and cinematographer Roland Schmid. Film director Paul Riniker interviewed all the protagonists and noted the statements for the portrait. The team included the make-up artist and owner of Schminkbar, Bea Petri with her daughter and co-owner Kim Petri.
